German breasts are getting bigger!

Human bodies are in a constant state of change, and for decades people have been getting taller and fatter. And that means that boobs are growing in size as well! This report explains how the body evolves, and the consequences that can have on health. A hundred years ago, the average German was 157 cm tall – but that figure has now reached 165. The shape of the body has changed as well – the average girl is no longer dainty, petit or curvy as a century ago, or has an hourglass figures like Marilyn Monroe in the 1950s. Waist and hip sizes are going up along with breasts. But why are women’s boobs getting larger? Chest measurements grow in direct proportion to average weight. Since there is a large percentage of fat tissue in breasts it is inevitable they grow along with added weight gain. Hormone pills – such as those used with menopause – cause breasts to grow due to the higher concentration of oestrogen. It is still inconclusive as to whether or not a larger bust leads to an increased risk of breast cancer, although research is ongoing. Why is average weight increasing? Although the number of calories in our daily food in the past decades is relatively constant, the composition has changed. Today we consume a greater amount of unhealthy, saturated fats and sugars for, according to nutrition expert Sven David Mueller. A woman’s diet 60 years ago consisted mainly of vegetables and complex carbohydrates. And people had more exercise back then as well. There was more housework, and getting around tended to be on foot or by bicycle. The poor diet and lack of movement have triggered the ever-growing waistline. Fat deposits around organs in the abdomen are strengthened. It isn’t just a superficial problem either – studies have found that a larger waistline increases the risk of diabetes and high blood pressure.

Bar Plans Favre-Item Burning During Game

Green Bay Packers fans at a Wisconsin bar said they plan to burn memorabilia bearing Brett Favre's name during a game against the Minnesota Vikings. The Milwaukee Burger Co. in Eau Claire said it will burn merchandise related to the ex-Packer-turned-Viking during halftime of Monday night's game between the two teams, the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram reported Tuesday.Manager Julie Kolk said $10 will be donated to charity for each item of Favre memorabilia thrown onto the flames. She said the idea for the event began when the quarterback came out of retirement to play for the Vikings. "It kind of started with some of the regulars here," Kolk said. "There was a lot of talk about doing something for the Packers-Vikings game." Kolk said the event is perfect for the bar because its patrons include fans of both teams. "We cater to both the Vikings and the Packers (fans)," she said. "We do have kind of two segregated crowds."

USA On Terror Alert

America went on heightened terror alert last night as it emerged up to 12 suspects are being probed over a New York bomb plot. Anti-terror chiefs have warned police across the US that stadiums, entertainment venues and hotels could be targeted. It follows earlier alerts that transport networks could be attacked. New York transport bosses have increased police patrols and officers in helmets and bulletproof vests were yesterday out in force at major depots such as Manhattan’s Grand Central station. Sean Smith, of the Department of Homeland Security, said: “While we and the FBI have no information regarding timing, location or target of any planned attack, we believe it is prudent to raise security awareness... regarding the targets and tactics of previous terrorist activity.” The bomb plot came to light last week when Afghanistan-born Najibullah Zazi, 24, was arrested in Denver, Colorado.Police believe he was plotting to detonate backpack bombs on New York trains. Backpacks and mobile phones were seized from New York apartments that Zazi visited. Investigators found bomb-making instructions that appear to match Zazi’s handwriting and also found his fingerprints on materials that could be used to make explosives. Zazi is also said to have received al-Qaeda training in Pakistan last year. He, his father Mohammed Wali Zazi, 53, and Ahmad Wais Afzali, 37, are accused of lying to the government and could face eight years’ jail if guilty. But they could face more serious charges as the inquiry proceeds. It has also emerged that up to a dozen other individuals are being probed over the alleged plot. The FBI said that “several individuals in the US, Pakistan and elsewhere” were being investigated.

Japanese Police Launch Crackdown On Commuter Gropers

It is one of the safest cities in the world, but for teenage girls and young women, travelling on Tokyo's vast train and subway system comes with the ever-present risk of sexual harassment from fellow commuters. But this week the Japanese capital's police launched a crackdown on the scourge of groping. In the first reported case, Tsutomu Yamane, 30, was arrested with minutes of allegedly groping a 15-year-old girl on Monday morning. Undercover police officers have been dispatched to notorious train lines across Tokyo in a new offensive against chikan, a catch-all term that covers groping, sexual rubbing and surreptitious mobile phone photography. The introduction almost a decade ago of women-only carriages during the morning and evening rush hours failed to put an end to Japan's chikan plague, despite warnings that convicted gropers face up to six months in prison and a fine of up to 500,000 yen (£3,300). Police in Tokyo make between 1,500 and 1,800 arrests a year, and have recorded more than 700 cases in the first six months of this year. More than 50% of victims are women in their 20s, and about a third are teenage girls. According to one survey, nearly two-thirds of young women say they have been touched inappropriately in train or underground carriages.Kimiko Kitagawa, a 31-year-old business consultant, joined the long list of chikan victims as she stepped off a subway train near her office in central Tokyo earlier this year. "I felt a hand grab my backside, but when I turned around there were several men rushing to get past," she said. "I had no way of knowing who had touched me." Confusion and embarrassment mean the number of groping incidents is suspected of being much higher than official reports suggest. "Many victims are reluctant to come forward, as they feel too embarrassed," a police spokesman told the Yomiuri newspaper. "We are going to concentrate on the most serious cases." The crackdown came in response to a recent jump in cases involving groups of men who use online chat rooms to arrange where and when to target women. At least 100 websites list prime groping locations, offering hints on how to fondle undetected and, if that does not work, evade arrest.
One site advises would-be gropers to select carriages with doors that open near platform escalators or staircases – perfect escape routes. Several men arrested in recent months have admitted being encouraged by the websites and emboldened by the prospect of working as part of a group. A typical tactic is to position two men in front and behind a victim, while as many as six other men block the view of other passengers. The police are targeting nine railway lines in Tokyo where groping has become endemic, especially the Saikyo line, which takes commuters between Ikebukuro and Akabane in the capital's suburbs. Attempts to prosecute gropers, however, have been frustrated by cases in which women, often with the help of male accomplices, make have made false accusations in the hope of securing huge out-of-court settlements. Men who are apprehended are usually found guilty. The 2007 film, I Just Didn't Do It, was based on the true story of a young man accused of groping who cleared his name after a five-year battle. In another high-profile case, the supreme court last year acquitted a 63-year-old professor of molesting a teenage girl in 2006. He had earlier been sentenced to 22 months in prison.

Man Charged Over Obama 'Joker' Posters

A Houston man said police were called and citations were issued because of his posters of President Barack Obama, KPRC-TV reported Wednesday. Mark Fuhre, 21, admits to hanging the controversial signs, which prompted concern for different reasons from neighbors, police and political party leaders. Fuhre said he was detained by police after posting the signs around his neighborhood. The signs depict the president with his face painted like the Joker from Batman. As he posted nearly 20 signs near Kingwood and Forest Gardens, he said he got a wide range of reactions from drivers. "Words of encouragement. We got a few people coming by screaming ridiculous things such as 'Racist.' It has nothing to do with racism," Fuhre said. Fuhre said one man who saw what he was doing voiced his anger and called the police. Fuhre alleged that once he arrived at his home, he was met by seven officers. "They slammed me against the hood of my car, cuffed me, threw me in the back of the car. I'm in my own driveway at this point and time," he said.He was not arrested, but said he and his friend received tickets for criminal mischief and vandalism. Now, he said he believes his right to free speech was violated. "It's the constitution of the United States, which is being forgotten," Fuhre said. "Everyone should have their liberties." Kim Hammond, a member of a local Democratic group, lives in the area where Fuhre was posting the signs. She said she spent time taking them down. "This is graffiti. This is vandalism," Hammond said. Hammond said it is not the message, but the hazard that some of the signs were creating. "It is very hard to find somebody who is pro-Obama in this neighborhood. I think they were targeted because they were involved in criminal mischief," Hammond said. Fuhre said he was posting the signs with his friends to win a cash prize in a video contest sponsored by an anti-socialism Web site. Fuhre said neither he nor his friends have filed a formal complaint against the officers. Police said they could not confirm or deny Fuhre's claims.

Naked Blonde Turns Tables On Builders

Burly builders fled when a naked blonde rushed at them on a construction site in the Austrian capital Vienna shouting: "Who wants me?" The hard-hat hunks ran for cover when the woman turned the tables on them on the building site beside the city's main railway station. "We like to chat up girls as they walk past - it's a tradition," said one builder."But this woman was too much to handle and we just ran and hid until the police got here. No-one liked to think what would happen if she caught one of us," he added. Police spokesman Mario Hejl said: "It turned out no-one wanted her. The woman was detained and was put under a doctor's care."

Gay Slur Claim Was Retaliation

A teacher and the student she allegedly harassed with gay slurs are trading new accusations. Teachers Diane Cleveland and Walt Filson are on unpaid leave from the Anoka-Hennepin School District after the Department of Human Rights found evidence that the two harassed former student Alex Merritt insinuating he was gay. He said he is not gay and the constant taunts finally convinced him to change schools. Cleveland is now claiming that Merritt made up the allegations because she once reported him for talking about bringing a gun to school.Merritt's mother Jodi Merritt said that's a lie. Jodi Merritt said, "I feel like they just basically abused him again. I mean, it didn't happen and they're still bullying him." A spokeswoman for the Anoka-Hennepin district confirms there was a report of students talking about bringing a gun to school last year. It was investigated, but never found to be true. For privacy reasons, school officials can't say if the incident even involved Merritt. The school district paid Merritt a $25,000 settlement under orders from the state Department of Human Rights.

Cash For Clunkers

A vehicle at 15 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 800 gallons a year of gasoline.

A vehicle at 25 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 480 gallons a year.

So, the average clunker transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year.

They claim 700,000 vehicles – so that's 224 million gallons / year.

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.

5 million barrels of oil is about ¼ of one day's US consumption.

And, 5 million barrels of oil costs about $350 million dollars at $75/bbl.

So, we all contributed to spending $3 billion to save $350 million.

How good a deal was that???

They will probably do a great job with health care though.

Federal Judge Allows Obama Eligibility Case To Go Forward

On Sept. 8, U.S. District Court Judge David O. Carter ordered a scheduling conference for Oct. 5, 2009, allowing the Obama eligibility case filed by Dr. Orly Taitz, Esq. on behalf Captain Pamela Barnett, Alan Keyes and others to proceed. Carter wrote, “The responsibility for the progress of litigation in the federal courts falls not only upon attorneys in the action, but upon the court as well. Accordingly, the court issues this order.” Taitz filed a declaration of Lucas Daniel Smith with an exhibit on Friday. Smith, a 29-year-old American citizen from Iowa, signed an affidavit, under penalty of perjury, stating he “traveled to Kenya and Mombasa, in particular, with the intent to obtain the original birth certificate of Barack Hussein Obama,” as he was told previously it was on file in the hospital and under seal, due to the fact the Kenyan Prime Minister is Obama’s cousin. Smith states he visited Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya on Feb. 19, 2009, accompanied by a citizen of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and said he had to pay a cash “consideration” to a Kenyan military officer on duty to look the other way while he obtained the copy of the birth certificate. According to Smith, the copy was signed by the hospital administrator and contains the embossed seal. As an exhibit, Smith provided the “true and correct photocopy of the birth certificate obtained.” Meanwhile, defendants filed a motion to dismiss stating, “Plaintiffs ask this Court to entertain a challenge to the 2008 election of President Barack Obama by requiring the President to disprove, in this Court, their innuendo alleging that he is not a ‘natural born citizen’ within the meaning of the United States Constitution.Plaintiffs cannot use this Court to investigate and decide the President’s fitness for office or their related claims … “Plaintiffs also seek to litigate in this court a variety of vaguely-defined claims purportedly related to a hodgepodge of constitutional provisions, civil and criminal statutes, and the Freedom of Information Act. These claims are equally flawed ...” Jeff Schwilk, founder, San Diego Minutemen, attended the Sept. 8 hearing and reported back, “Judge David Carter refused to hear Obama's request for dismissal today, instead setting a hearing date for Oct. 5. He indicated there was almost no chance that this case would be dismissed. Assuming Judge Carter denies Obama's motion for dismissal, he will likely then order expedited discovery which will force Obama to release his birth certificate in a timely manner. According to Schwilk, Carter, a former U.S. Marine, repeated several times that this case is very serious and must be resolved quickly so that the troops know their Commander in Chief is eligible to hold that position and issue lawful orders to our military in this time of war. “Plaintiffs’ Attorney Dr. Orly Taitz did a great job, winning some huge victories today,” said Schwilk, adding, “She was fearless!” Carter requested all counsel familiarize themselves with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Local Rules of the Central District of California in order “to secure the just, speedy and inexpensive determination of every action.” Carter admonished counsel that a continuance of a scheduling conference is rarely granted and a continuance will only be granted only for good cause.

Court Document Swears Kenyan Birth Certificate Legitimate

With a scheduled hearing date looming Tuesday, Lucas Smith, the man who tried to sell an alleged Barack Obama Kenyan birth certificate on eBay, has filed court papers in a high-profile eligibility case insisting – under threat of perjury – that the Obama birth certificate in his possession is the genuine article. Smith filed his affidavit through California attorney Orly Taitz, who has spearheaded several lawsuits challenging Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility to serve as president, as part of a case that includes as plaintiff former presidential candidate Alan Keyes. Taitz posted on her blog Smith's declaration, which claims he obtained the alleged birth certificate from Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya, and insists it's real. "The true and correct photocopy of the birth certificate obtained is attached to this affidavit as Exhibit A," the declaration reads. "I declare, certify, verify, state and affirm under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that the foregoing statements of fact and descriptions of circumstances and events are true and correct." Want to know for certain where Obama was born? Demand the truth by joining the petition campaign to make President Obama reveal his long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate!Smith's affidavit, which includes a copy of the certificate, has been filed with Judge David Carter of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Carter is scheduled to preside over a hearing on the case on Sept. 8. Taitz told reporters she believes the swiftly approaching court date prompted Smith into action: "He has been in touch with me for quite a while, and he emailed me the document with his signature," Taitz said. "I think he was trying to figure out the most expedient way to bring his message public, and maybe he felt that because I have a hearing coming, that would be the most expedient way." Taitz hopes the court will order expedited discovery, a ruling that would open many of Obama's currently sealed documents, including his college records and Hawaiian long-form birth certificate, to court scrutiny. "We'll see what happens on Tuesday. If Judge Carter has the guts, we may move very fast," Taitz told reporters. "If expedited discovery is ordered, I'll be dashing to Occidental College and then be on a flight to Hawaii." at 7:24 p.m. In his filing, Smith declares that he traveled to Kenya in February and paid off a military officer in order to obtain a copy of the birth certificate from Coast General Hospital in Mombasa. The declaration also states that the hospital administrator signed and sealed the copy, which indicates Obama's birth in Africa on Aug. 4, 1961, at 7:24 p.m.

Minnesota Muslim Recruited to Fight in Somalia is Killed

Mohamoud Hassan joins the list of Somali Muslim men with Minnesota connections killed in Somalia. Hassan is believed to be one of as many as 20 Minnesota Somali muslim men recruited to go fight in the country's civil war. In the past year, Burhan Hassan, Jamal Bana and Zakaria Maruf have all been killed while fighting in Somalia. Those men, and Mohamoud Hassan, were reportedly with the militant Islamist group Al-Shabaab that is fighting to overthrow the Somali government and is linked to the Alqaida terrorist group. A spokesman for Hassan's family says Mohamoud's involvement with the group was unexpected. "He was a very smart young kid, and it adds to the mystery of exactly what happened," said Omar Jamal.Hassan was known to write about anti-government forces. In an essay on Facebook that was published in the New York Times, he wrote " I would advise you to stop sending young Somali boys on suicide missions against well-armed and well-trained troops." Hassan was a University of Minnesota engineering student before leaving to go fight in Somalia. His family's spokesman says he is not optimistic about the Somali men like Hassan ever returning to the U.S. "I don't think they will ever come back. I think they will all be killed," said Jamal. Federal law prohibits anyone from going to another country to fight or join terrorists. While the reasons why 20 some muslim men left Minnesota to fight in Somalia are a mystery, the focus has now shifted to prevent anyone from leaving to fight there in the future.

Eagan Adds Blue Traffic Light To Intersections

Red, yellow, green, and blue? Some drivers may take another look at some intersections in Eagan MN. The new blue light is a tool aimed at helping to better patrol three intersections along Pilot Knob Road, according to police. Police say from 2003 to 2007, they had nearly 300 accidents along the roadway, with 11 percent of them stemming from drivers disobeying a traffic light. Here's how it works: When the blue light shines, the left turn light at the intersection is red. Officers can them monitor whether a car turn on the blue light is safer than to pull over a red light runner. City and county money helped pay for the three lights, which cost several thousand dollars each. "This is just another piece in the tool box that we can look at," said Eagan Police Chief James McDonald.City officials also talked to Burnsville and Apple Valley, who have already used the blue light, and say they work. While it seems like the point would be not to have drivers know about the blue lights, the city says they actually want to make it well known. They believe if drivers realize officers have this tool, they will obey the red instead of risking paying a $130 ticket. "If one property damage collision is prevented by these blue lights and people respect the red lights, it's paid for itself as already," said the city's transportation engineer Tim Plath. Chief McDonald says a lot of people have confused this program with the illegal Photocop program in this case there's an actual officer patrolling, not just a camera.
