Nothing Better To Do With Your Money

Church officials plan to change some images on the Saint Mary's Cathedral in Saint Cloud because they look like swastikas. Reverend Steve Binsfeld said some people walk by the church and thought the images near the cathedral's roof line are Nazi symbols. He said the symbols are just a decorative form of the cross. The symbols appeared in catacomb tomb inscriptions hundreds of years before Nazi Germany, but cathedral officials will remove them because of their political meaning. They'll replace the images with ones that would portray the "Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary," named by the late Pope John Paul two years ago. Officials hope to have the designs cut into granite as part of the parish's 150th anniversary.
