GLOBAL ESTABLISHMENT ASSAILS RISE OF POPULISM

The global elite have launched a propaganda war against nationalist and populist political parties, demonizing those who oppose globalism as “authoritarian populists.” With many rejecting the artificial “left vs. right” paradigm in favor of a broad repudiation of the corporate-backed global elite and their allies in major political parties across the world, proponents of globalism are now seeking to demonize those anti- The British polling organization YouGov, along with David Sanders, Britain’s Regius Professor of Political Science at the University of Essex, conducted a study across twelve European countries to gauge the level of popular support for a new political ideology dubbed “authoritarian populism.” “Back in the 1980s, the use of a new academic term became common among some political scientists when describing the politics of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher: ‘authoritarian populism’ (AP),” noted Joe Twyman, the head of political and social research at YouGov. “This term was based on the theory that they and their supporters shared a core set of attitudes: cynicism over human rights, anti-immigration, an anti-EU position in Britain, and favouring a strong emphasis on defence as part of wider foreign policy.” The principal foundations of “authoritarian populism” are, according to globalist experts: anti-human rights, anti-European Union, anti-immigrant, and pro-strong foreign policy. However, the pollsters at YouGov admitted their methodology for identifying “authoritarian populists” is based as much on the pollster’s personal judgment as on any discernible fact.
“Inevitably, the interpretation and grouping of results of this type is as much an art as a science, so the results involve the analyst’s own judgement,” the poll’s methodology noted. According to the poll, 48% of British voters hold “authoritarian populist” views. The overwhelming majority of those voters, unsurprisingly, belong to UKIP, the nationalist political party that spearheaded the successful campaign for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union. The mainstream media has heaped praise on Angela Merkel, “an unlikely stalwart for liberalism in the West,” hoping she will be able to beat back rising support for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in her bid for a fourth term as Chancellor. In France, 63% of those polled were found to be open to authoritarian populism. The attempt to paint anti-globalist French voters as authoritarians is a concerted attempt to drive down support for the National Front’s presidential candidate, Marine Le Pen, who has risen sharply in the polls as support for the current Socialist President Francois Hollande plummet. “With one of the EU’s two most integral members now led by a far right anti-EU president, a Le Pen victory could very well lead to dramatic consequences for the European Union,” suggested Twyman. With the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States, the successful “Brexit” vote in the United Kingdom, and growing opposition to globalism in France and Germany, the global elite have adopted a long-held strategy of those with failing ideas: demonizing those who oppose corporate-dominated globalism as racist, xenophobic authoritarians.
