Sartell Flag May Head To Iraq

An American flag that has flown over both the U.S. and Minnesota capitols and the city hall in the central Minnesota community of Sartell may soon be headed to Iraq. The flag is being presented to City Council member David Peterson, a member of the Minnesota National Guard's 34th Infantry Division. The Red Bulls will serve a year-long tour of duty in Iraq, and Peterson will be among them. He's taking a yearlong leave of absence from the City Council. Mayor Tim O'Driscoll, the City Council and the Sartell American Legion will present the flag to Peterson at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 9 at Sartell City Hall. They are asking Peterson to take the flag along on his deployment, then bring it home so it can be flown over Sartell City Hall again.
